Bud Butter Stuff
Cooking with Marijuana

How to make bud butter: http://www.thataintnormal.com/?p=124 has the best recipe I've seen so far. There is no having to strain through a cheesecloth. Using this recipe...

this much
bud-butter:
contains good stuff from
this much bud:
1/2 cup   1/4 ounce (7 grams) bud
1 cup   1/2 ounce (14 grams) bud
1 1/2 cups   3/4 ounce (21 grams) bud
2 cups   1 ounce (28 grams) bud

Recipes that use butter, vary in their Measurement Descriptions. The following is useful for figuring out how much butter a recipe is calling for:

Cups = Sticks = Pounds = Tbsps = Ounces
1/2 cup   1 stick   1/4 pound   8 tbsp   4 oz butter
1 cup   2 sticks   1/2 pound   16 tbsp   8 oz butter
1 1/2 cups   3 sticks   3/4 pound   24 tbsp   12 oz butter
2 cups   4 sticks   1 pound   32 tbsp   16 oz butter

Temperatures
When selecting recipes to use bud butter in, use ones where the temps are under 400 in the oven, and maximum low simmer on the stovetop - don't use it to fry or saute stuff.

Measuring Cup Use
Say you need 1/2 a cup in a recipe. It's difficult to press it into a measuring cup and then scrape it all out, so here is a better way. Take a measuring cup and put in 1/2 cup cold water. Next, add bits of butter until the water mark goes up to 1 cup. Pour out the water, and you are left with exactly 1/2 cup of butter (which will hardly stick to the cup at all).

Recipes To Try With Bud-Butter
I found a lot of recipes on the internet that use at least 1/2 cup of butter, margarine or shortening. These are all recipes that look promising for substituting bud butter. You're on your own figuring out portion sizes. Careful, the buzz can be very intense and longlasting if you eat too much.

Oh yeah, don't forget, only make these pot recipes if you live somewhere where pot is legal of course!
